US Atlantic Scallops Fishing Zones
In 2016, US Vessels will receive three 17,000 lb trips into a tri-region “megatron” restricted area which includes Hudson Canyon, Delmarva and Elephant Trunk. In addition the boats will have 34 Open Area Days to fish in unrestricted areas.

With scallops sizes being smaller this year, this will keep U/10’s at a Premium but lower prices on smaller sizes. Overall we continue to see a continued lack of imports which will reduce total supply. Looking ahead, expected increase in 2017 harvest will keep year end prices in check.
